Things have been crazy in the world of entertainment with Movie theaters closing their doors and production being put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. Studios have been reshuffling their release dates, with some films skipping theaters altogether and going straight to streaming. One of the recent shakeups is Sony and Marvel’s Venom 2, now rightfully titled Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The film was still set to be released on October 2nd, 2020, but since it was in the middle of shooting when the world stopped, it was expected to get delayed. Now that has been made official, as Sony and Marvel Studios have moved the film to June 25th, 2021, which adds another big film to 2021’s lineup.

Venom 2 was one of the last films struggling to keep their original release date, as some films that were scheduled to release this summer either moved their release date to later this year. That included Sony, who previously moved Morbius and Ghostbusters: Afterlife to next year.

Marvel Studios also had to reshuffle their deck, by moving Black Widow and The Eternals to new dates, and a few of their other films in their Phase 4 lineup. This makes 2021 and 2022 jam-packed but doesn’t leave 2020 with much excitement.

Now getting back to the Venom sequel, there have been shots of Woody Harrelson on set as Carnage, though we haven’t seen what he will look like as the red symbiote, which is all done via visual effects. That will have to wait until a trailer is released, but who knows when that will be.
